Yesterday’s heavy rains reminded me of one important task. Backing up data on my mobile phonebook.
Infact, tragedy struck!! I got wet in the rains, so did my mobile. As soon as I got home, I was awestruck as to how the fear inside had come true. The phone was dead. It was not being switched on again. In 3.25 years of our relationship, this phone never turned off on me on its own.
So, today morning, I was on the prowl. LG service center was waiting for me to come. As usual got bugged by their service methods and was trying to figure out how people make policies that makes the customer feel sorry for coming there.

This article was orginally written in september 2003 (I was not aware about the blogging world that time. At that time India had just begun to show itself as an emerging super power. Posting it as Ii had written then)
The collapse of the Soviet Union led to a unipolar world, where U.S. became the sole military and economic superpower. Entire world accepted democracy and capitalism as an answer to all their woes. Rebellion & revolution are not the words that have made much impact in post-independence India. The times however are changing. There is a silent, slow and steady change happening in minds of us Indians. We all do feel the change. RDB reflects this shift in our attitude.

“Peaceâ€, it seems to refer to an in between phase between two acts of terror. These acts of terror are not necessarily terrorist attacks, as we know it. They include the larger crimes of war and genocide.
To achieve peace in a permanent form, people of the world have resorted to violence. Lives can cost as little as little as a 50 paise worth bullet. Illiteracy, unemployment, poverty, corruption, class divides stay behind. Violence and bigotry are the frontline enemies.
Our country is on a road set to become a technology and economic superpower. The pseudo-nationalist politicians of our country relinquish their strength on our country’s nuclear arsenal, not realizing that time is ticking on a much larger bomb residing in minds of people. The bomb is a rift between the Hindu and Muslim community. If this bomb is not diffused, it may lead to partition once more. Mind-well this one will be bloodier than the previous one.
